This place is an absolute gem. The recently renovated rooms were top quality and you cannot beat the location a short walk to the heart of Hobart. I didn’t have a car with me but it looked like plenty of on site parking as well.

We really enjoyed staying at the Prince of Wales it was perfectly located and the restaurant and bar were excellent choices for food and drinks.

The surrounding cafes and restaurants were equally good for choice of breakfasts and dinners. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.

Perfect location. Free onsite parking, food was great at the restaurant, Jackman & McRoss across the street and a 5 minute walk down to the Kelly Street steps straight into Salamanca Markets on Saturday.

Newly renovated beautiful accommodation close to everything. I used to stay at grand chancellor, but this is so much nicer and a value for money!

The location was perfect, a short walk to the Salamanca markets, Harbour and eateries. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff, though they were busy and I had to wait a few minutes, the staff made sure I was being looked after, they were warm and welcoming throughout the duration of our stay.

Staying In Battery Point

Battery Point is some of the only remaining, colonial settlement village of Hobart. The narrow streets are flanked with views of Mount Wellington and the River Derwent, with lovely historic buildings and cottages at every turn.

Situated within 5 minutes walk of Salamanca Place and the famous Salamanca Markets, Battery Point is the ideal place to stay when in Hobart. It offers walking access to all of Hobart’s central attractions and easy bus or car access to the wider region.
